SAFE IN THE SUN

We have collected for you the best advice on dermatological care so that you can get the best effects of sun on your body.

  1. On the first days of your holiday, let the sun caress your skin gradually, early in the morning and late in the afternoon is the safest time, it is even better to enjoy the sun whilst walking.

  2. From 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. you’d rather read a book or take a nap in the pine grove or in the shade of a beach umbrella.

  3. Apply water-resistant sun protection creams or lotions on all the parts of your body exposed to the sun.

  4. Don’t forget to apply them on lips, ears and the back of your feet and apply them once again after swimming and showers.

  5. Photo-protection by wearing light garments and hats is the first protection against UV rays and medium-dark coloured garments should be preferred.

  6. Opt for products containing UVA and UVB sunscreens appropriately chosen on the basis of your age and your skin type.

  7. If you have children, avoid a direct exposure to the sun, especially if they are younger than 6-month. In any case, “high level of attention” is recommended.

  8. Do not expose yourself to the sun if you have taken drugs, such as anti-inflammatory, antibiotics, medicine for arterial hypertension or modulation of heart rate, or anti-anxiety drugs.

  9. Do not expose directly to the sun the skin areas which have been recently subjected to laser aesthetic treatments, chemical peeling or surgical operations with consequent scars.

  10. The sun is very strong in a cloudy sky, so don’t forget good habits when the sun is not shining.
